5 AM Wake Up
Week 5/11 Intention
I used to be a morning person. I preferred getting up early. It didn’t matter how late I stayed up, whatever amount of sleep I got was what I got through my day with, no complaints.
I went on a bit of a sabbatical from work around COVID time - perhaps more on that later, but I began sleeping in and that was the end of it. I could’t seem to get enough sleep. My normal 6 hours being fine, crept up to needing at least 7 and then 8. My internal clock was keeping me under for longer. Perhaps I was just sleeping better from not having the stress of a job, I wasn’t waking up in the middle of the night with some work terror. But regardless, my days of functioning on 6 hours of sleep were over.
I realize my needs change as my body ages, I am not as young as I used to be and sleep is more important. But I am looking to reclaim some time in my day and see if I can compromise on 7 hours. So the full intention here is 10PM bedtime and 5AM wake up.
So tomorrow, whether I want to or not, whether I slept good or not; my intention is to get out of bed at 5AM.
What I will do with that extra time is an intention for another week…
